Train traffic on the Kelani Valley Line has been fully restored following a derailment that occurred yesterday evening between the Kosgama and Avissawella railway stations
According to railway officials, the derailment was caused by a tree and a section of soil collapsing onto the track amid heavy rainfall. Restoration work was completed overnight, and train services on the route resumed normal operations this morning.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
