In his Deepavali message, Hon. Jeevan Thondaman, General Secretary of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress (CWC) and Member of Parliament, extended his heartfelt greetings to all communities celebrating the festival of lights.
“May every moment in everyone’s life bloom with success, health, and happiness,” he wished, emphasizing the spirit of hope and renewal that Deepavali brings.
He further said that, just as darkness fades before the light of the lamps, sorrow should vanish from people’s lives, making way for joy, progress, and new opportunities.
“This is a time for all of us to come together to dispel the darkness surrounding our nation and usher in a bright and prosperous future. The Deepavali festival reminds us of the values of unity and togetherness. Therefore, we must unite for the revival and progress of our Up-Country community,” he said.
Thondaman also urged everyone to celebrate Deepavali safely and compassionately. “Let us share what we have with those in need and bring smiles to their faces. May love and peace flourish throughout the nation, may divisions disappear, and unity prevail.”
Concluding his message, he extended his warm wishes to all:
“On this joyous occasion of Deepavali, may prosperity and well-being multiply in everyone’s life. May God bless all with good health, peace, and abundance. Wishing everyone a Happy Deepavali!”
