The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has announced two emergency telephone numbers to assist the public in responding to possible emergencies in the Colombo Metropolitan Area due to adverse weather conditions expected in the coming days.
A CMC spokesperson said that a special mechanism has been put in place to provide immediate services through these hotlines in the event of disasters such as tree falls, floods, and issues with sewage systems within the city limits.
The emergency service will operate from October 16 to October 28, and the public is advised to contact the following numbers for assistance:
