Mr. W.W.S. Mangala has been appointed as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation.
He previously served as the Director General of Planning and Development at the Disaster Management Division under the Ministry of Defence for several years, contributing significantly to the field of disaster preparedness and management.
Mr. Mangala holds a degree from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Ruhuna and postgraduate qualifications in Regional Development and Planning Management from Germany and the Philippines. He has also gained extensive experience working in several ministries and international development projects.
The new Secretary officially assumed duties at the Ministry’s head office, with the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Anura Karunathilaka, and Deputy Minister, Janitha Kodituwakku, in attendance at the occasion.
