Parliament is set to adopt amendments to the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) on October 21 during the Committee Stage.
The PDPA Amendment Bill, which received Cabinet approval, was passed at its Second Reading on June 3, 2025.
Following a request from the Ministry of Digital Economy, the Legal Draftsman’s Department, in consultation with the Attorney General’s Department, identified several minor amendments to be introduced at the Committee Stage.
The Committee Stage amendments, already approved by the Cabinet, will be adopted without debate, after which Parliament will pass the Bill at its Third Reading on the same day.
