The Department of Meteorology’s Natural Disaster Early Warning Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning effective from 12:00 noon to 11:00 p.m. today (October 16, 2025).
According to the advisory, several areas across the island are likely to experience heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning during this period. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning.
The Department further urges residents to stay indoors during thundershowers, avoid using electrical appliances, and refrain from seeking shelter under trees or near open water sources.
