Heavy rain and dense fog cause traffic disruptions in central hills

Traffic disruptions were reported in the catchment areas on the western slopes of the central hills this afternoon due to heavy rains and dense fog.

Thick fog blanketed the Hatton–Nuwara Eliya and Hatton–Colombo main roads, as well as several by-roads in the area, severely reducing visibility.

The Hatton Police Traffic Division has urged motorists to drive cautiously, maintain low speeds, and keep their headlights on while travelling along these routes.
