The Sri Lanka Navy has recovered a large stock of narcotics floating in the southern seas, weighing a total of 839.254 kilograms, according to the Navy.

The recovery was made after a group of fishermen spotted 51 suspicious bags drifting off the coast of Tangalle and alerted the authorities. The bags were later brought ashore to the Tangalle Fisheries Harbor.

Upon inspection, the Navy confirmed that the haul contained 670 kilograms of ice (methamphetamine), 156 kilograms of heroin, and 12 kilograms of hashish.
