On the occasion of the 76th Army Day, which fell on 10th October 2025, the Commander of the Armed Forces and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has officially approved the promotion of five (05) Brigadiers to the rank of Major General in recognition of their distinguished service.
These promotions have been granted to officers who were injured in action, as a mark of honor and gratitude for their dedication and sacrifice.
The promotions were made on the recommendation of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Samipath Thuiyakontha (Retd.), and the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo.
