A complaint has been lodged with the Kandy Headquarters Police regarding the disappearance of two 13-year-old schoolboys from the Thenkumbura area in Kandy.

The complaint, filed by M. Indra Kamani, a resident of Thenkumbura, states that her son, K. Jagathees, and another boy named Mohamed Milhan went missing yesterday (08) evening.

According to the complaint, Milhan had been at Kamani’s home when both boys disappeared. Milhan’s mother, who is currently abroad, has also filed a complaint with the police regarding her son’s disappearance.

Police said that one of the missing students is a Year 8 student at a leading boys’ school in Kandy, while the other attends a Tamil-medium school in the city.

Residents of the area reportedly saw the two boys walking toward the Mahaweli River in the Thennekumbura area before they went missing.

Kandy Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
