A 31-year-old lawyer from the Atchuveli area has been arrested by the Special Crimes Investigation Division in Jaffna in connection with a major fraud case involving the preparation of a fake land deed.
Police said the suspect had allegedly prepared a forged land deed and attempted to present it as a genuine legal document. Investigations have revealed that the fraudulent document was used in an attempt to carry out a land transaction.
The Special Crimes Investigation Division is conducting further inquiries into the incident.
