Around 10 houses have been fully or partially damaged after strong winds swept through the Mahindagama area in Welikanda, Polonnaruwa.
According to reports, the area had experienced heavy rainfall over the past few days, and the strong winds that occurred yesterday evening along with the rain caused significant damage to several houses.
Welikanda Divisional Secretary T.T.M. Irfan stated that the exact extent of the damage has not yet been determined. He added that the Grama Niladhari officer is currently collecting information regarding the affected houses.
