A shooting incident was reported at a house in the Omatta area of Elpitiya last night (04).
According to police, the shooting was carried out by an individual who had arrived on a motorcycle. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, though one of the house’s windows was damaged by gunfire.
The motive behind the shooting has not yet been determined. However, police suspect that the attack may have been carried out in retaliation for information provided to authorities regarding drug-related activities in the area.
Police investigations into the incident are currently underway.
