Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa met with the Swedish Ambassador to Sri Lanka, H.E. Jan Thesleff, who is based in New Delhi. A group of delegates from the country's Trade and Investment Council along with the Swedish Ambassador, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary Specialist of the Ministry of Health and Media, was also joined for the meeting.
He was accompanied by a delegation from the Swedish Trade and Investment Council and several businessmen. The Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, also joined this meeting.
In this meeting, many facts about food security in Sri Lankan, maintaining high health indicators in the region, child nutrition, nutrition challenges among school students, higher education activities of Sri Lankan students in Sweden, aged population challenges, tourism industry and health service, pharmaceutical production scheme etc. The discussion was done.
Delegation discussed several important topics including food security in Sri Lanka, maintaining high health standards in the region, child nutrition, challenges in school students’ nutrition, higher education opportunities for Sri Lankan students in Sweden, the challenges of an aging population, the link between tourism and healthcare, and Sri Lanka’s pharmaceutical manufacturing program.
