The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a 44-year-old resident of Panadura in connection with a massive financial fraud involving a government project.
Police said the suspect had obtained Rs. 6 billion in 2019 for a fish feed production project under the Ministry of Agriculture. The amount represented 40 percent of the total project value.
Investigations have revealed that the suspect failed to implement any part of the proposed project despite receiving the funds
