SriLankan Airlines has partnered with UnionPay International and the Bank of Ceylon to introduce UnionPay as a new online payment option on its official website.
The initiative enhances the airline’s digital payment facilities and is expected to provide greater convenience to the growing number of Chinese tourists choosing SriLankan Airlines.
Until now, passengers could make online payments through Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Diners, Discover, UATP, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. The addition of UnionPay further strengthens the airline’s presence in the fast-expanding digital travel market.
“As the national airline of Sri Lanka, we always strive to provide our passengers with a more pleasant experience, from the moment they purchase their flight tickets to the end of their journey. Introducing the option to pay via UnionPay cards is another important step in this direction, making it easier for international travelers to book with us,” said Dimuthu Tennakoon, Head of Commercial, SriLankan Airlines.
