Dehiwala–Mount Lavinia Municipal Council member and former Western Provincial Council member Amal Silva, who was arrested on charges of possessing three illegal jeeps, has been released on bail.
The Panadura Magistrate’s Court issued the order, granting Silva bail with two sureties of Rs. 5 million each.
According to Hiru’s court correspondent, the case relates to the alleged unlawful possession of three vehicles, which are said to have been operated without proper registration and documentation.
