Sampath Bank has successfully arranged a syndicated loan facility of Rs. 33.5 billion for the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), with Nations Trust Bank and Pan Asia Bank joining as partners.
This landmark financial arrangement is expected to strengthen CEB’s debt restructuring efforts and ensure the continuity of its operations, thereby supporting an uninterrupted power supply across the country.
Highlighting the strategic role of Sri Lanka’s banking sector in backing nationally critical institutions, the initiative reflects the collective strength of local banks.
By spearheading this funding facility, Sampath Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development and long-term economic progress, the bank said in a statement.
