Sri Lanka’s iconic Lotus Tower is set to introduce South Asia’s first and the world’s tallest tower-based bungee jump next year, officials announced yesterday.
The groundbreaking project, currently in its engineering phase, is expected to become a major attraction for adventure and tourism enthusiasts, placing Colombo on the global map of extreme sports.
Chairman of Lotus Tower, Shirantha Peries, highlighted that the initiative reflects the tower’s vision to serve as a hub for culture, technology, and entertainment. “This new addition will further enhance the Lotus Tower’s role as a symbol of modern Sri Lanka, offering both locals and tourists a unique and thrilling experience,” he said.
Meanwhile, the tower has recorded impressive financial performance, with profits reaching Rs. 539 million in August 2025—a 192% year-on-year increase. Officials attributed this growth to a surge in visitor numbers and diversified attractions offered at the venue.
The new bungee jump is expected to strengthen the tower’s reputation as not only a landmark but also a premier leisure and adventure destination in the region.
