A minor tremor was reported yesterday (23) at around 6:46 p.m. in the Akkaraseeya, Welanwita, and Lemastota areas within the Haldummulla Divisional Secretariat Division.
The tremor lasted for approximately one minute. However, no disaster situations or property damage have been reported so far. Authorities have nevertheless advised residents to remain vigilant.
The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) stated that the incident was not recorded at the seismic monitoring centers located in Pallekele, Hakmana, Mahakanadarawa, and Ampara.
