The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Technicians’ Union has announced that its ongoing ‘work-to-rule’ trade union action will continue until midnight today (24).

Union Chairman Kosala Abeysinghe confirmed that the action remains in effect as planned, while stressing that discussions on the next steps are scheduled for later today.

“All trade unions affiliated with the CEB will meet this afternoon to collectively decide the future course of action regarding trade union activities,” Abeysinghe stated.

The union launched the ‘work-to-rule’ campaign citing unresolved demands, though specific details of the grievances have not yet been officially disclosed.

The meeting this afternoon is expected to determine whether the unions will escalate, suspend, or continue their current action beyond today.
