President Anura Kumara Dissanayake departed the island a short while ago to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, USA.

The President is scheduled to address the General Assembly, highlighting Sri Lanka’s stance on global peace, sustainable development, and international cooperation.

During his visit, President Dissanayake is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with several world leaders and high-level officials on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.

The 80th UNGA session brings together leaders from across the globe to discuss pressing international challenges, including climate change, global security, and economic recovery.
