Police have seized a lorry transporting around 200 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (commonly known as Ice) and heroin in Tangalle.
According to police, the raid was carried out following a tip-off, and the narcotics were found concealed inside the vehicle. The stock is estimated to be worth several millions of rupees in the illicit drug market.
Authorities said that the driver and others connected to the transport of the drugs have been taken into custody for further questioning. Investigations are ongoing to identify the broader network involved in smuggling and distributing the contraband.
