A 28-year-old Austrian tourist was rescued from drowning while swimming in the seas off Mirissa, police said.
According to reports, the woman had been swept away by a strong current while bathing at Mirissa Beach.
She was pulled to safety by a team of police lifeguards who were on duty at the time. No serious injuries were reported.
