President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will depart for the United States on September 22 to take part in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

During his visit, the President is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with several heads of state and senior government officials, and will also meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

Following his engagements in New York, President Dissanayake will travel to Japan on September 26 on a state visit at the invitation of the Japanese government.

While in Japan, he is expected to participate in the World Expo International Trade Fair on September 27 and hold high-level discussions with senior Japanese leaders.
