The Judicial Service Commission has dismissed the Matara Additional District Magistrate following a disciplinary inquiry. The magistrate was found guilty of misconduct after a formal investigation by the Commission.
In a separate case, the Magistrate of the Mathugama Court has resigned after pleading guilty to allegations brought against her. The resignation was accepted by the Commission.
The Additional Magistrate of the Mathugama Court has been appointed as acting magistrate until a new appointment is made.
