Seven patients injured in the bus accident in Ella are in critical condition, according to Dr. Palitha Rajapaksa, Director of the Badulla Hospital.
He said that one of the victims is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Dr. Rajapaksa further noted that surgeries were performed on several patients last night, and the remaining procedures are expected to be completed by this evening.
He added that one or two more patients may need to be admitted to the ICU following their surgeries.
