All trade unions of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) have launched a work-to-rule trade union action from today (04).
The decision was announced yesterday afternoon (03), in protest against the government’s decision to restructure the CEB, along with several other employee-related issues.
A spokesperson for the unions said the campaign is based on 16 key demands, including opposition to what they claim is an “illegal restructuring process” that causes severe inconvenience to employees.
Other demands include concerns over the lack of incentives, delayed promotions, and unresolved administrative matters.
The unions stressed that they will continue the trade union action until authorities address their demands.
