Gazette issued calling for over 500 Prison recruitment positions

The Government Gazette approved the recruitment of 554 new officers to fill staff shortages in the Prisons Department.

Prisons Commissioner and Media Spokesman Jagath Weerasinghe said  that  new recruitment includes 70 female prison guards,  409 male prison guards .

Additionally, 55 male jailers (Grade II), 7 female jailers (Grade II), 10 male rehabilitation officers (Grade II), and 3 female rehabilitation officers (Grade II) will also be recruited.
