A tragic accident occurred this morning (27) near the Kuliyapitiya Lake Bridge when a school van collided head-on with a tipper truck loaded with sand.
Police said three people, including two schoolchildren and the school van driver, died in the crash.
Thirteen other students sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital for treatment.
Kuliyapitiya Police have launched further investigations into the incident.
