In response to a scheduled protest in Colombo, police have instructed all Officers-in-Charge (OICs) of city police stations to maintain public order and prevent any potential disruptions.
According to police, strict directives have been issued to take legal action against individuals engaging in violence or violating the law during the demonstration.
Special security measures have been implemented in key areas, including around the Fort Magistrate’s Court and the National Hospital in Colombo, where increased activity is anticipated.
Additionally, anti-riot units and extra police teams have been placed on standby to respond swiftly in the event of any unrest.
