Siyabalanduwa was battered by strong winds and heavy rains, leaving nearly 50 houses damaged last night.
According to the Monaragala District Disaster Management Unit, the adverse weather conditions disrupted electricity supply across several parts of the area.
The severe winds impacted six Grama Niladhari divisions under the Siyabalanduwa Divisional Secretariat, including Buddhama, Wijithapura, Galamuna, Baravayaaya, Kalugolyaaya, and Samanala Bedda.
Many homes sustained udamage as a result of falling trees, with residents reporting significant property losses.
Authorities have commenced relief operations and are working to restore power supply to the affected communities.
