Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has voiced concern over a Sri Lankan YouTuber allegedly predicting the arrest of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe before it took place earlier today (22).
In a post on ‘X’, MP Premadasa questioned whether the prediction was merely coincidental or preplanned.
“A YouTuber predicting the arrest of a former President before it even happens? That can’t be a coincidence, could it be planned? If true, it’s a sad day when something as sacred as law and order is reduced to cheap theatrics,” he wrote.
His remarks follow Wickremesinghe’s arrest by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over allegations of misusing state funds for an overseas tour to London during his tenure as President.
