A forest fire has erupted in a section of forest under the Department of Wildlife Conservation in the Maduragama Grama Niladhari Division.
The Puttalam District Deputy Director stated that immediate measures are being taken to control the fire. A fire truck from the Puttalam Municipal Council and a team from the Puttalam Naval Base are currently engaged in firefighting operations at the scene.
Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the blaze, and efforts are underway to prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.
