A shooting incident was reported in Pahathgama, Hanwella, last night (13), according to police.
Police stated that two unidentified gunmen, who arrived on a motorcycle, opened fire before fleeing the scene.
One individual sustained injuries to the leg during the incident and was admitted to hospital for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the shooting.
