Former Secretary to the Ministry of Health, Janaka Sri Chandragupta, appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today in connection with an ongoing investigation into a forged government appointment.
The inquiry relates to a suspect who allegedly posed as a public servant using an appointment letter that was reportedly issued under Chandragupta’s name and signature. The CID said that a statement will be recorded from the former secretary regarding the authenticity and origin of the letter.
In a separate case, former Minister Piyasena Gamage has also been summoned by the CID.
