The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a temporary suspension of water supply from Nittambuwa to Minuwangoda on Friday (August 9), due to cleaning and disinfection work on the transmission pipeline of the Gampaha, Attanagalla, and Minuwangoda Integrated Water Supply Scheme.
According to the NWSDB, the water cut will be in effect for 10 hours from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the said date.
Areas to be affected by the suspension include:
Kandahena, Mapagolla, Kongasdeniya, Pinnagollawatta, Kolawatta, Gorakadeniya, Ranpokunagama, Ranpokunagama Housing Scheme, Bataleeya, Attanagalla, Pasyala, Urapola, Dikkanda, Meevitigammana, Maimbula, Mathalana, Haggalla, Alawala, Kalalpitiya, and Ellamulla.
The water board has expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused to the public due to this disruption.
