The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reports that more than 48,300 tourists have arrived in the country within the first eight days of July 2025 alone.

With this latest influx, the total number of international tourist arrivals for the year has reached 1,216,344, marking a notable increase in momentum for the island's tourism sector.

For comparison, Sri Lanka surpassed the 1.2 million tourist milestone in 2024 only in the month of August, indicating a faster recovery and growth in 2025. Tourism officials view this as a promising sign for the sector's continued resurgence, fueled by targeted marketing campaigns and increased connectivity.
