A Sri Lankan national was arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport for attempting to smuggle three pangolins hidden in his underwear.
Thai authorities made the arrest following a tip-off received by the Wildlife Crime Intelligence Center. The suspect, identified as Shehan, had arrived from Colombo on Thai Airways flight TG308. Investigations revealed his prior involvement in wildlife trafficking, including a 2024 arrest in Colombo. Authorities suspect his connection to the trafficking of various exotic species such as wolves, black cockatoos, and sugar gliders.
