A serious accident occurred this afternoon (4th) when an SLTB bus veered off the road and crashed into a large tree near the Deduru Oya Bridge on the Chilaw–Puttalam road.
According to Chilaw Police, 21 individuals, including the driver, sustained injuries and were admitted to the Chilaw General Hospital.
The bus, operated by the Sri Lanka Transport Board, had been traveling from Colombo to Peduru Thuduwa at the time of the incident. Police said the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the crash. Investigations are ongoing.
