The Paddy Marketing Board will commence purchasing paddy from farmers starting tomorrow, according to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Namal Karunaratne.

This move aims to provide financial relief to local farmers and maintain a steady rice supply in the market. The government has set fixed purchase prices for key varieties: Nadu at Rs. 120 per kilogram, Samba at Rs. 125, and Keeri Samba at Rs. 132.
