A shooting incident was reported early this morning on Dissanayake Mawatha, Wewegodawatte in the Akmeemana area of Galle, police confirmed.
According to authorities, two unidentified individuals riding a motorcycle had opened fire at a residence around 5:00 a.m. today (23). Investigations reveal that the assailants used a 9mm pistol during the attack.
Eyewitnesses say the gunmen quickly fled the scene following the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the shooting caused panic among nearby residents.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and special teams have been deployed to identify and apprehend the suspects.
