Former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, along with his wife and daughter, has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). The trio was taken into custody earlier today following statements recorded at the commission’s headquarters in Colombo.
This development follows a series of legal actions against the Rambukwella family, including the freezing of fixed deposit accounts and life insurance policies totaling over Rs. 93 million, and the suspension of assets worth Rs. 97 million. These measures were taken amid investigations into alleged financial misconduct during Rambukwella's tenure as Minister of Mass Media, Health, and Environment.
