Sri Lanka commemorates the 16th anniversary of its military victory today with the National Victory Day Ceremony, held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in front of the War Heroes Memorial, Battaramulla. The event will take place under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
QIn line with the ceremony, a special traffic plan is in place in Battaramulla. While no road closures are planned, police warn of possible restrictions on Parliament Road—from Polduwa Junction to Kiyayam Junction—during congestion.
Alternative Routes:
Exiting Colombo: Use Polduwa Junction > Battaramulla Junction > Palam Thuna Junction > Kiyayam Junction.
Entering Colombo: Use Kiyayam Junction > Palam Thuna Junction > Battaramulla Junction > Polduwa Junction.
Motorists are urged to follow police guidance to avoid delays.
