Sri Lanka Railways has announced that the Dematagoda railway crossing on the Orugodawatte–Borella main road will be completely closed to vehicular traffic on May 24 due to urgent repair work.

The closure was confirmed in an official statement issued today by the General Manager of Railways, Dhammika Jayasundara. According to the statement, the railway crossing will be inaccessible from 9:00 a.m. on May 24 until 6:00 a.m. on May 25, to facilitate essential maintenance.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes during this period to avoid traffic congestion and minimize inconvenience to the public. Authorities are expected to implement appropriate traffic management measures in the area to assist with the diversion of vehicles.

Sri Lanka Railways has apologized for any disruption caused and emphasized that the repair work is necessary to ensure safety and maintain uninterrupted railway operations.
